Fall Half Marathon Training - Hampton's & Grete's Gallop Half Marathons
Have you done several 5K and 10K races and are ready to taking your running to the next level? Or perhaps you've completed a half marathon and would like to improve you time. Either wa, our Half-Marathon training program is a great next step in your progression as a runner, and a fun new challenge. We're focusing this program on the Hampton's Half and Grete's Great Gallop both on September 29th. If one fo those race doesn't interest you, the timing of this program is a great fit for any mid-September thru mid-October race.
The twice weekly workouts for this class meet in Central Park and are geared toward those fit individuals who would like to complete their first half-marathon, or those experienced with this distance who would like to set a PR. Because this program is 10 weeks, we require that participants MUST be able to comfortably run 5 miles continuously, and have a weekly base mileage of between 10-12 miles. We will work with you to hone your existing running and fitness skills with emphasis on pace and increased endurance. In addition to our twice weekly group workouts will be an Online Training component, updated weekly, where we let you know what is happening in class that week as well as some suggested in-between class homework. Ample time is given to event preparation so that you have a successful and positive race day. For those of you not looking to participate in one of the classes' goal races you can use this as an effective training program for any late September/early October half marathon.
**For those of you coming from the office our meeting space has changing rooms and lockers to store your belongings.

Where/When: The class will meet at our UWS store located at 140 West 72nd Street. We'll meet every Wednesday from 6:45-7:45pm and Saturday mornings at 8:15am.
Dates: July 25th through September 29th. We will not have class Saturday, September 1st for the Labor Day weekend.
