Faster Finish - The 5th Avenue Mile
How fast can you run a mile? That’s a question that seemingly everyone asks themselves at one point or another, and this program is finally going to provide you with an answer!
We’ve developed this program for existing runners who would like to devote a couple weeks of focused training with the goal of running your fastest mile ever. As our motivating race we’ve chosen the ultimate event to train towards – The 5th Avenue Mile. This is a world famous race that attracts some of the fastest runners in the world, and yet is open to runners of ALL abilities and levels. Whether your goal is 9 minutes or 5 minutes, we can help you reach your full potential. Or, if you have no idea what your goal time should be, don’t worry, we’ll work with you to determine the fastest attainable goal for your fitness level coming into the program.
Our eight week program meets twice per week and will also include an online component where we not only let you know what’s happening in class, but will also provide you with some suggested in-between class homework. Folks considering this program MUST be able to run 4 miles continuously and have a weekly base of between 12 - 14 miles.

Days/Dates/Time: Class meets Mondays & Thursdays from August 2nd through race day of September 22nd. There will be NO class September 1st for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Where: The class meets at JackRabbit’s UWS store Community Space onWest 72nd between Broadway & Columbus. Restrooms, lockers and changing rooms are provided.
