With the New Year fast approaching, NOW is the time to make a plan to reach your personal health and fitness goals! Running is a joyful experience - once you become a runner. Let JackRabbit help you turn your resolutions into reality with our Beginning Running program.
This program is designed for people who have never run before or who have not run for a very long time, and want a structured introduction to help get in shape without getting injured along the way. We start with very gentle workouts combining walking and running, and give your body plenty of time to adapt to running over the 10 weeks of the program as we build to the goal of continuously running a 5K/3.1 mile distance. There's no stopwatches or pressure of any kind, just positive support. In addition, you will receive personalized email coaching to guide your training in between our regular class meetings as well as to let you now what we're doing in class if you should have to miss a class or two for whatever reason.
The class will meet at the McBurney YMCA between 6th & 7th avenues where you can store your belongings during class. We will warm up on our way to the West Side running path where the majority of class will take place. ALL classes will take place outdoors, rain or shine, and in the snow, but we will be sure to make it fun!
Dates/Time: This program meets every Monday & Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm and will start Monday, January 6th thru March 13th, 10 weeks
Where: The class will meet at 14th St YMCA between 6th & 7th avenues where you can store your belongings during class, just bring your own lock with you please.
